I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New York practicing as a therapist in Long Island.  I have over 30 years of experience working with a variety of issues and I strive to provide a warm, safe and supportive environment in which my clients can explore their issues and challenges. I feel that people are most comfortable in their own homes and therefor offer home visits.

I specialize in working with parenting difficult children related to behavioral strategies and the effects it has on marriage.  However, I also have experience working with clients dealing with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, parenting education and support, workplace stress, women’s issues, co-parenting, bi-polar, relationship issues, communication difficulties, adhd and autism. I work with Individuals, couples and families.

While I am trained in a variety of treatment modalities, the actual counseling approach I use with a given client is determined by that client’s preferences, personal goals and nature of the issue being addressed.  I believe in using humor, spirituality, relation training and mindfulness techniques to help my clients as we work together. Any approach I use will incorporate a strength-based approach in order to enhance the client’s level of motivation for personal growth and change.

I find that the people who enter my office come with many strengths.  My hope is to provide a safe, supportive environment to facilitate those strengths to successfully accept change.  When facing challenges and struggles, you do not need to feel alone; it can be advantageous to have someone by your side who is nonjudgmental, insightful, understanding and compassionate.

I strongly believe in the power of the therapeutic partnership to help uncover the strengths and resources we possess in order to bring about the changes we seek. I work to provide clients with tailored treatment plans that can be integrated into their daily lives in order to live purposeful, joy-filled lives.
